The Amazing Race 6 will debut Nov. 16, airing on Tuesdays, not Saturdays.
After being homeless and airdate-less for a few weeks, The Amazing Race 6 finally has a night it will call home: Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. The show will debut with a two-hour episode on Nov. 16, directly in the middle of sweeps, the all-important ratings period when networks throw out their best material. A CBS press release notes that the fifth season “was the summer’s most watched unscripted program, averaging 10.73 million viewers and culminating with 12.94 million for its Sept. 21 finale. THE AMAZING RACE 5 regularly won its summer time period in all key demographics.” CBS is keeping the show on the same night that it aired over the summer, but moving it an hour earlier into the space occupied over the summer by Big Brother 5, which is currently occupied by Clubhouse. Earlier, plans were to air the series on Saturday nights starting on Sept. 26, and later Oct. 2. Then it was held indefinitely, when CBS started to think about moving it from Saturdays.
