The breakout star of The Amazing Race 5 appears to be 28-year-old Charla Faddoul, a dwarf who is running the race with her average-sized cousin Mirna Hindoyian. In her real life, she is “the manager of 10 sporting goods stores near Baltimore,” and now, she “has made a name for herself while angering other teams and polarizing popular opinion,” USA TODAY reports. At CBS.com’s web site for the show, Charla and Mirna are one of the most popular teams, and after episode two, were leading the predicted winner poll. Bertram van Munster, the series’ executive producer and creator, has only this curious thing to say about Charla: “By the time the thing is said and done, Charla will be famous.”
