Details names Reichen Lehmkuhl its fourth most-powerful man, while Ryan Seacrest is #33

Amazing Race 4 winner Reichen Lehmkuhl has been named the fourth most powerful man on Details’ annual Power 50 list, although his placement has nothing to do with reality TV.

Instead, he’s praised for being “the catalyst for the biggest outing since Ellen.” Yes, he’s powerful because he’s banging Lance Bass, the ‘NSync band member. Details attempts to explain why this is equals power with two confusing and nearly incomprehensible sentences: “Lehmkuhl’s lesson? The Gay Rumor remains the entertainment world’s most potent weapon.”

Reichen comes far ahead of the founders of Google, Stephen Colbert, and the 9/11 hijackers, which is enough evidence that the list is a complete joke, and/or a way to fill a bunch of pages and get attention from bloggers who need something to post on a slow news day.

Close to the end of the list is American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. The magazine praises Seacrest for being “the ringleader of this circus, maintaining order with a relentlessly sunny smile,” and because he “is a terrifyingly driven businessman intent on building a brand; this year he signed a $21 million three-year deal with E! to create and host programming for the network including E! News and its signature red-carpet coverage.” If only he’d sleep with a boy band member; then he’d truly become powerful.
