On Wednesday’s episode of The Amazing Race 3, the team of Harvard law school roommates took a cab to the pit stop rather than walking, as they were instructed to do; they rationalized it saying they could walk from the cab to the pit stop. The 37 minute penalty for the infraction put them in last place, and they were eliminated from the race. On The Early Show Thursday, Eve said, “it was indicated by our cameraman [that it was] OK to take a cab. We ended up taking the cab, and obviously, it ended up hurting us.” They also said the producers weren’t aware of the camera operator’s role when they issued the penalty, and said they voluntarily came forward. “No one would have known that we had taken the cab because no one saw us.”
