Maria Ho wins $500K at World Series of Poker, setting a record

Amazing Race 15 team member Maria Ho won $540,020 at the World Series of Poker’s No Limit Hold ‘Em tournament, winning more money than any other woman ever at a US WSOP event.

In an interview with Poker Listings, Maria said, “In the last seven months I’ve made three final tables in pretty major events so I came into this WSOP with my confidence at an all-time high.”

As to The Amazing Race, Maria said she and her teammate Tiffany “were never asked back for the all-star season. It was kind of a weird situation because the way we were eliminated from the show definitely qualified as unfinished business.”

They quit a task and took a 24-hour penalty, and thus were eliminated. She’s angling to be included in a future all-star season, which might be next season, considering how CBS shows are increasingly relying on returning cast members. “There might be future all-star seasons and we’d really look forward to being a part of that,” she said.
