Amazing Race, Survivor return in February

CBS’ standby reality shows will both return the same week in February.

That’s unsurprising only for The Amazing Race, which was going to move to a once per year schedule as of last fall, and was on track to do that, since season 12 ended last January and season 13 debuted this fall. (That’s the first time the show aired just once in a TV season since The Amazing Race 5 in 2004, the only season that aired by itself in a year.)

Now, though, we’re back to two seasons a year. The Amazing Race 14 will debut Feb. 15 at 8, airing in the same drive-me-insane timeslot on Sundays that it always occupies. The show started taping in early November.

Survivor will return like it always does in mid-February, debuting Feb. 12 and airing Thursdays at 8 as usual. That will be the start of its 18th season, whose location and name will be announced during the Dec. 14 Survivor Gabon to those people who suck at deduction.
