The Amazing Race

Team Guido: villains or nice guys?

Team Guido: villains or nice guys?
Every good reality TV show needs a villain, and The Amazing Race has two great ones: Team Guido, otherwise known as Joe & Bill. The past two elimination episodes, they’ve narrowly edged out two popular teams, Nancy & Emily and Kevin & Drew, and on the show, there appeared to be not much love between the six of them. However, on The Early Show a few weeks ago, Nancy revealed that the two teams “kind of made up,” and said she recently visited and stayed overnight with Joe and Bill. Two posts in Mighty Big TV’s forums offer even more insight: In one, a high school history teacher says that after an assignment about the show led to an essay by a student who “wrote about what it was like to be a gay teen in a rural school,” Joe & Bill “have offered advice and guidance” to the student. Another post recaps Kevin & Drew’s appearance on a radio show and reveals that Team Guido will be the ring bearers at Drew’s upcoming wedding. So, while we may love to hate them on the show—a la Richard Hatch—evidence suggests they may not be all that bad in real life.
