The 18 Survivor Vanuatu castaways were revealed yesterday morning, but it wasn’t until CBS got around to posting the information online that we discovered that the tribes will be separated by sex, which might have been something Julie Chen could have considered mentioning. Of course, that’s actual news, thus disqualifying it from airing as part of The Early Show. The women’s tribe will be known as Yasur and will wear yellow, while the men wear red and will be collectively referred to as Lopevi. The spilt-sex tribes also appeared in Survivor Amazon but were shuffled; CBS’ spokesperson wouldn’t say anything about what will ultimately happen to those tribes, but told the AP, “In true Mark Burnett … style, there will be some twists and turns throughout the season.” The ages of the cast members, by the way, ranges from 21 to 59, and exactly half of the cast is in their 30s.
