RussellGotScrewed.com was registered nine days before Survivor Samoa’s finale
Russell Hantz’s new web site that laments his Survivor Samoa loss was created and registered more than one week before the live finale, during which he learned he lost. In other words, Russell knew—or at the very least, strongly suspected—well before the finale that he wasn’t going to win.
Of course, it’s not all that surprising he expected to lose, considering Natalie told me she’d heard she won, though she also thought the jury might have been screwing with her. Russell admitted this to People, saying, “I started thinking and thinking about it when I was home, and analyzing everything that everybody said, and I was like, ‘I didn’t win.’ That’s why I already opened the website.”
The site, RussellGotScrewed.com, includes a message from Russell that says, “I’d like to thank all of you for your support during the show, and I hope that you will consider helping me support one of my favorite organizations: St. Jude Children’s Hospital.”
Elsewhere, it celebrates the very reason for Russell’s loss even while complaining about it. On the About page, Russell is quoted as saying, “I’m not going out there to make friends. I’m just not doing it. But everybody is going to think I am their best friend, because I’m just such a lovable character.” Actually, no, nobody you played the game with liked you, which is why you lost.
The site is registered to Sazerac Design in Lafayette, Louisiana, and its owner didn’t respond to my request for information about it, though Russell writes on the site, “This site is maintained by some friends of mine back in Louisiana.” But it asks people to buy t-shirts and/or donate money to ST. Jude’s:
“Think Russell Hantz should be Sole Survivor? WE DO TOO! And Russell needs your support! If you think that Russell is the real winner of this season’s Survivor, please cast your vote or buy a T-Shirt today! Your donation of $1 will allow Russell to help thousands of TRUE SURVIVORS through his favorite organization - St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A portion of every vote and purchase will benefit children across the country battling cancer and catastrophic diseases at St. Jude Children’s Hospital!
By the way, browse through the comments with caution: Someone with knowledge of the Survivor Heroes vs. Villains finalists told me that the names of those who made it all the way on the upcoming all-star season are revealed in a comment someone left overnight, thought it may have been deleted.
