Survivor Samoa’s older cast “lost a couple of people to evacuations,” Probst says

The larger cast on Survivor Samoa may have not affected the game, as host Jeff Probst suggested in a recent interview that two were evacuated.

In a post-filming interview with IGN, he said, “We lost a couple of people to evacuations.” The interviewer didn’t follow up, so we don’t have any other details. But those are presumably for medical reasons (and having rehearsed one of the challenges, I wouldn’t be surprised if that challenge caused a major injury of some kind).

Meanwhile, while the casts may not be getting more diverse in terms of their ethnicity or cities—the Los Angeles area is home for nine of the 20—they are getting slightly older, although the average age actually went down last season, probably thanks to Spencer and no Gillian.
