Apparently forgetting that the megalomaniacal I’m-in-charge-and-you’re-going-home-next-nanny-nanny-boo-boo strategy stopped working a few seasons ago, Rupert Boneham found his power was a liability last night when he was voted out on Survivor Pearl Islands. Although he didn’t take his torch and, say, set Burton or Jon on fire, he did tell Jeff, “I can’t believe this” as his torch was snuffed. His final words were much more melodramatic: “This would have made my life a lot better. I always get hurt trusting people. I want so badly to be accepted, and I never get the acceptance that I want. I don’t fit. So much for my dreams.” Rupert’s fans (and there are many) need not worry, as he’s reportedly currently participating in Survivor All-Stars. Next week, by the way, the show airs on Wednesday instead of Thursday.
