president of Palau says nation is the number one choice for the next Survivor.
Scouts for Survivor were expected to arrive yesterday in Palau, which is the show’s “No. 1 choice” for its next location, the nation’s president said. Palau—not to be confused with Pulau Tiga, the location for the first US show—is “[t]he westernmost archipelago in Oceania” and has “500 pristine, uninhabited islands,” including “the Rock Islands, a stunning network of raised limestone where verdant jungle drips into tantalizing aqua lagoons,” according to Guam Pacific Daily News. The paper reports “filming could start in September, running through to December and possibly January.” This would make it the likely location for Survivor 8, which will be an all-star edition.
