Sandra only planned to come in second.
What is Survivor Pearl Islands winner Sandra Diaz-Twine going to do with the $1 million prize? She has no idea, because she only planned on coming in second place. “I was counting on winning the $100,000 (for second place). … I figured with $100,000, I would pay some bills and get a new car. That was all I had planned,” she tells The Olympian. She won an SUV, so the new car is out. Now, she says, “I do want to go on a cruise. I do want to buy a house. But with my husband being in the Army, we’re always moving around. When I buy a house, I want it to be somewhere we’ll stay.” In the interview, Sandra says she’s been a fan of the show since the first season.
