More than 25 million people watched the Survivor Pearl Islands finale, the series’ best finale ratings since May of 2002, when 25.9 million viewers watched Survivor Marquesas’ finale. With 25.2 million viewers, the Pearl Islands finale beat the finales for Survivor Thailand and Survivor Amazon, which “averaged 24.1 million and 22.3 million viewers, respectively,” Zap2it.com reports. Meanwhile, betting site BetWWTS.com stopped trading on the show in September after 15 bets from Vancouver were placed on the same person: Sandra. The company’s CEO tells the AP, “It’s either one of two things. It’s either an insider from CBS or a friend or neighbour of Sandra’s.” He thinks it’s the former, as does Sandra, who says, “I wanted the money, whatever little bit I was getting [either the $1 million or the $100,000 for second place]. I didn’t want to screw that up. I suffered too much out there. I lost 22 pounds.”
