Janu quit Survivor Palau at Tribal Council after a little encouragement from Jeff Probst. An emotional Stephenie, who was targeted by the alliance of Men Who Decide Who Goes Home, broke down as Janu basically gave up. Stephenie said, “It kills me that someone who wants to basically go home that bad, these people will keep around just because—I don’t know why, I guess I showed too much heart and too much will.” Tom and the others didn’t seem swayed, but Jeff Probst kept picking at Janu. “What’s the difference between you laying your torch down and you looking at this group and saying, ‘vote me out’?” Janu then decided to lay down her torch “so that Stephenie could have a chance to stay in the game.” Stephenie said “not on my account,” and Janu revised her statement. Then Jeff ground the axe in: “You are, on your own, quitting this game.” She said she was, and walked out, becoming the second member of the jury.
