Throughout Survivor Marquesas, ultimate survivor Vecepia Towery asked God for forgiveness for her actions and thanked God for helping her advance in the game. So does God help people win reality TV shows, and was her constant asking for forgiveness okay? The Salt Lake City Tribune analyzes her and Neleh’s religiosity as it relates to the game. One reverend says “Towery’s comments suggest a ‘loose’ use of the term ‘forgiveness,’” which another person says could encourage people to do anything knowing they can just ask for forgiveness later.
