Survivor is Canada’s most-popular TV show, leading American Idol
Canadians can’t apply for Survivor, but they certainly watch it: Survivor Heroes vs. Villains is the most-popular TV show in Canada, although American Idol is a close second despite the fact that Canadians have (update:had) their own Idol.
CanWest reports that 2.9 million Canadians watch, which “makes Survivor the most-watched weekly TV program in the country right now, a hair ahead of American Idol, with 2.8 million viewers.” The story attributes some of the interest to the all-star edition, but notes that the show’s “reach extends all the way from Salmon Cove, N.L., to Winter Harbour, B.C.”
