Jeff Probst stays with Survivor for two more years and four more seasons

Jeff Probst has signed a contract with CBS to remain as the host of Survivor for four more seasons or two more years. Probst was already signed on for season 12, which should conclude production in Panama today or tomorrow.

In a statement, the 44-year-old, who’s dating a former contestant, said,

“I was thinking about retiring and spending my time traveling to exotic locations around the world, meeting new and interesting people. Then I realized, uh, wait a second, I’m already doing that with ‘Survivor’ and getting paid for it, as well.”

So, basically, he wanted more money.

Although executive producer Mark Burnett started the speculation that Jeff would leave, Burnett now says, “I consider him a friend and look forward to continuing to keep Survivor fresh with Jeff for many more seasons.”
