Survivor Cook Islands

New York City politicians will rally today against Survivor Cook Islands

It took just one day after CBS announced that the Survivor Cook Islands cast would be separated by race for politicians who know not of what they speak to speak out about a reality show no one has seen. In New York City, specifically, “a coalition of officials, including the council’s black, Latino and Asian caucus, planned to rally at City Hall” today, the AP reports.

City Councilman John Liu, recently the subject of a profile in the New York Times about the fact that he “is quick to a microphone,” said, “The idea of having a battle of the races is preposterous. How could anybody be so desperate for ratings?”

They want “CBS to reconsider its plans,” according to the AP. Let’s see: CBS has already completed a multi-million dollar production of a reality show that the entire country has been talking about for more than 48 hours now, the first time the nation has talked about Survivor in six years. Likelihood of reconsideration: zero.
