ArchivesDuring the Survivor Fiji reunion, Jeff Probst officially announced the 15th season, which will be called Survivor China.
Probst offered few details, probably because production won’t begin until later this summer. But he did contradict himself. Earlier, he said in an interview that the show would be filmed on islands. But last night, he said, “Survivor leaves the tropical island setting for something completely different.”
He said “the adventure will play out in the shadows of a sacred mountain, on the shores of a remote lake in a land known for tigers, giant pandas, snow leopards, and ancient traditions.”
Variety first reported the next location back in April; as it said then, this “is a precedent for an American network” to film an entire series in China.
