The numbers are in, and Survivor 2’s ratings kicked ass while the Super Bowl fell flat. The reality TV show attracted just under the number of people (51 million) that watched the final episode last season. (New York Times story requires free registration.)

Earlier, >Inside.com reported that early ratings showed that the Super Bowl had its lowest ratings in nine years, but Survivor 2 pulled in a terrific 25.6/38 share. That’s “the second-highest score for a post-Super Bowl entertainment program since the premiere of The A-Team,” according to Inside. And as final numbers come in, the show’s numbers could get a lot higher.
