Survivor’s doctor admits to using cocaine and “inappropriately obtaining prescription drugs”

Adrian Cohen, Survivor’s on-set doctor, “admitted to misconduct including cocaine use and inappropriately obtaining prescription drugs” for his work on the show, The Daily Telegraph reports.

His cocaine use, he said during the hearing, is “spasmodic and unpredictable” and the results of his work in this “unique business.”

He “appeared before the [New South Wales, Australia] Medical Tribunal yesterday” where he is “accused of procuring a large supply of wholesale drugs, despite not having the appropriate wholesale licence” for his work on the set, according to the paper.

He “is also facing complaints of procuring huge amounts of drugs to take to the remote locations seen in the television program. … Cohen said a large amount of medication was needed because of the isolated sets, where hospitals were often a five-hour helicopter flight away.”

The doctor specifically mentions an incident during production of Survivor Amazon, when he says he needed prescription medication to “help a local badly injured in a machete fight,” the paper says.
