As usual, there will be just two tribes on Survivor Amazon, but for the first time they will be split by sex, according to media reports. The female tribe includes Christy Smith, a deaf woman, and Janet Koth, an “abstinence counselor.” The male Tambaqui tribe includes Dave Johnson, a rocket scientist (and no, that is not a smart-ass comment; he works for NASA), and Matthew Von Ertfelda, one of People’s top 50 bachelors last year. Overall, half the cast is younger than 27, and seven cast members are under 24. Only three people are around age 50. And, judging based solely on appearance, the cast only includes two non-white people. The show debuts Feb. 13.
