ArchivesCBS has ordered a 13th and 14th season of Survivor, which is currently in its 11th season.
In a statement, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said the network “look[s] forward to taking audiences to more exotic locations next season,” which is ironic considering that next season, the 12th, will be again set in Panama, as reality blurred exclusively reported this morning, and is also the final season for which Jeff Probst is under contract.
As Mediaweek notes, the “show ranks 7th” and “is averaging 17.6 million viewers.” That makes it the most-watched reality series on the air right now. Of course, Idol returns in January and will likely dominate in the ratings once again.
