Starting Over has officially been cancelled

Bunim-Murray’s groundbreaking, addictive daytime reality soap opera Starting Over has officially been cancelled.

This isn’t really surprising, as cancellation was expected, although distributor NBC gave fans hope by saying a decision was forthcoming and allowing fans to provide feedback. That was earlier this summer.

However, I recently talked to an NBC spokesperson as part of the MSNBC.com Q&A column I co-write, and that person confirmed the show’s demise. As a sidenote, I called the show’s press contact, but the person who answered the phone told me that contact no longer works for NBC Universal. The show was canceled and so, apparently, was the press contact, although perhaps just coincidentally.
