Top 10, all-stars for SYTYCD announced
So You Think You Can Dance eliminated two more dancers last night—Ryan Ramirez and Alexander Fost—and arrived at its top 10, who will compete with all-star dancers, who were also announced during the results show.
The returning all-star dancers are Brandon Bryant, Comfort Fedoke, Chelsie Hightower, Allison Holker, Pasha Kovalev, Melody Lacayanga, Kathryn McCormick, Robert Roldan, and tWitch. They’ll be paired with this season’s finalists: Jordan Casanova, Tadd Gadduang, Marko Germar, Ricky Jaime, Mitchell Kelly, Caitlynn Lawson, Jess LeProtto, Sasha Mallory, Melanie Moore, and Clarice Ordaz.
Pasha, tWitch, Comfort, Kathryn, and Allison return from last season. Alex Wong, who left the competition last season because of an injury, was going to be an all star, but he snapped his other tendon during a dance just last weekend because he has terrible luck.
At the start of the show, Cat acknowledged guest judge Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Emmy nomination, and told him, “You called it,” a reference to the fact that during the performance episode, besides being a far better guest judge than Carmen Electra was, he’d predicted she’d get an Emmy nomination, which she finally did. Cat moved on and tried to get Nigel Lythgoe to talk about the nomination the show itself received, but Nigel turned it back to Cat and started a standing ovation. Although she didn’t speak, Cat looked both proud and humble, emotional yet professional, and that showed exactly why she deserves to win.
However, considering Jeff Probst submitted the race argument episode, which really demonstrates his skill as a moderator, I think the Academy will keep up its Probst streak. But at least Cat has finally gotten the recognition she deserves.
