Mia Michaels says she’s quitting SYTYCD

Emmy-winning So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Mia Michaels posted three messages to Twitter last night that say she’s leaving the show.

She wrote, in all caps, “THANK U FOR 5 WONDERFUL YRS” and “THANKS SYTYCD AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHATS AHEAD FOR ME…LOOKOUT WORLD!!!!!”

Rickey says that Mia posted a similar message to Facebook, although it’s one I cannot find on Mia’s public pages:

ITS BEEN AN AMAZING 5 YEARS ON SYTYCD……I THANK THEM FOR ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES AND MOVEMENT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CREATE FOR THE WORLD…..TODAY WAS MY OFFICIAL RESIGNATION OF THE U.S SHOW AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHATS AHEAD FOR ME

It’s strange that she’s leaving now, just before the live shows begin—live shows that will include her choreographer colleague Adam Shankman as a new permanent judge. Maybe that has something to do with it? Or maybe she’s taking a hiatus to get her broken caps lock key replaced?
