ArchivesFOX debuts the third season of its summer competition series So You Think You Can Dance tonight at 8 p.m.
The 90-minute premiere will be followed by a two-hour episode next Wednesday at 8 and Thursday at 9, and then air Wednesdays and Thursday nights, with various start times. Cat Deeley returns as host; Lythgoe and Mary Murphy return as permanent judges; and the winner gets $250,000.
With the show airing less than 24 hours after American Idol concluded, FOX apparently doesn’t want viewers to go into Simon Fuller- and Nigel Lythgoe-produced talent competition withdraw. But that also explains why I’ve never really watched; after Idol and Dancing with the Stars, I need a break from the format.
