Shark Tank renewed, keeps all sharks but adds Jeff Foxworthy

Shark Tank, one of my favorite shows from last fall has been renewed. Eight episodes have been ordered, and it will return in 2011, according to reports in trade publications. While all five sharks are returning—Barbara Corcoran, Kevin Harrington, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary—the show is adding a sixth shark for three episodes: Jeff Foxworthy, the “you might be a redneck if…” guy.

The ABC adaptation of the UK’s Dragon’s Den that lets people present their business ideas to a panel of rich people who can invest with their own cash. While Foxworthy does have a bunch of merchandise with his name on it, it’s unclear exactly how he fits in with the panel. It seems more likely that ABC just wants to add some name recognition and/or humor, and we’ll see how he fits in.

If you haven’t watched Shark Tank, you can watch episodes or clips on Hulu, and it’s really fun and worth watching.
