Rock Star Supernova changing their name (again); Gilby Clarke has not left the group
The band known as Rock Star Supernova, the awkward result of a name change forced by a lawsuit brought by a group called Supernova, is changing its name again.
On ET Canada, lead singer and winner Lukas Rossi said “there will be a name change” for the group, although he did not elaborate.
Meanwhile, guitarist Gilby Clarke issued a statement to say that he was not leaving the group, according to Blabbermouth.net. On the ET Canada report last week, the host said, “Lukas Rossi’s Rock Star Supernova is over. … There are reports that Gilby has left the group.” Awkwardly, they interviewed Clarke, who says nothing of the sort on camera, nor did they appear to ask him about it.
In his statement, Clarke confirms that, saying in a statement reproduced by Blabbermouth, “I have not left ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA. We just finished the tour. I don’t know where they got that from. I did an interview with ET Canada, and we talked about the future of the band, but I never said I’ve left the band.”
