Tommy Lee rumored to be fronting Rock Star 2, says he’ll be back on TV soon
If the next Rock Star won’t star Van Halen, which group will front the second season of the CBS series? If rumors are correct, it won’t be a group at all, but a former member of a rock group and current solo artist: Tommy Lee.
MelodicRock.com reports that Tommy Lee “has been in negotiations with the show’s producers for the last few weeks” and will “take on a star role in the revamped show format.” Lee will be “taking the place of Inxs searching for his next Rock Star lead vocalist. The winner will front Lee’s next studio album and a tour,” the site says.
As evidence, MelodicRock.com cites an interview in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, in which Tommy Lee suggests he’ll be back on TV, but not on NBC:
A. In about two days you’re gonna hear a statement about something new. I’m looking at the press release right now, but I can’t tell you what it is.
Q. Is it an NBC press release?
A. No, a different network.
Q. But we’ll be seeing you back on TV?
