Rock Star: INXS’ Monday night episodes move to VH1

As rumored, CBS is changing the schedule of Rock Star: INXS. The network is unloading one-third of the show—the Monday night episodes—to VH1. Both networks are owned by Viacom, and a press release awkwardly describes this as “part of an agreement between CBS, VH1 and Mark Burnett Productions.”

VH1 will air the half-hour non-competition episodes on Sunday evenings at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, “VH1 will also repurpose encores of both the Tuesday and Wednesday editions beginning Saturday, Aug. 13.”

The press release also has a paragraph toward the end that paints a smiley face on the dismal numbers, although it’s only able to put the smiley face on the Tuesday night episodes for three groups of people:

“The Tuesday performance-driven edition of ROCK STAR: INXS has averaged 6.18 million viewers while winning its 10:00-11:00 PM time period in adults 18-34 (2.5/08), adults 18-49 (3.0/08) and adults 25-54 (3.4/09).”
