SU2C reality teams: Archuleta’s team raised double Survivor; SYTYCD, Biggest Loser trail

During the Stand Up To Cancer telethon on Friday, Survivor Africa winner Ethan Zohn appeared with So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley and The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney to announce that the Fox and NBC shows, along with ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition were joining with CBS and creating fundraising teams.

As of Sunday night, the Survivor team has exceeded its goal of $25,000, raising $31,637. So You Think You Can Dance’s team has raised $1,506, The Biggest Loser team has raised $680, and Extreme Makeover’s team has raised $295.

To be fair to the other teams, Survivor started its team and fundraising about a month ago. And that team is getting its ass kicked by American Idol runner-up David Archuleta’s team, which has raised $68,058.

Ultimately, the teams are just a fun way to encourage donations, 100 percent of which go to collaborative cancer research. So, if you can, give something, even $1.
