On How I Met Your Mother, Barney runs through reality TV elimination lines (video)

On last week’s episode of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, Barney, the character played by Neil Patrick Harris, quickly ran down the exit lines from a bunch of different reality TV shows, and it’s fantastic. The writers covered the big shows, such as Jeff Probst’s Survivor send-off and Julie Chen’s Big Brother eviction notice. But there are also shows with cult followings, such as Work of Art and RuPaul’s Drag Race, and his monologue is up to date with its references, including Top Chef Just Desserts.

For many of the lines, Harris adopts the host’s demeanor, emphasizing, for example, Phil Keoghan’s accented “been” in “You have been eliminated from the race” to Padma Lakshmi’s low-key, breathy Top Chef “Please pack your knives and go.”

While the studio had a clip removed from YouTube—such a genius marketing move—the New York Post’s Popwrap blog grabbed it, so here it is:
