Spike TV will air real-life Call of Duty video game
Spike TV’s Game Head series will air an episode Friday night/Saturday morning at 12:30 a.m. that features Call of Duty gamers experiencing a reality TV version of the video game.
The episode, “Call of Duty 3: Challenge,” features 16 “unsuspecting” gamers who will compete in physical and mental challenges that allow them “to see what happens when a game becomes a reality,” according to a Spike TV press release.
The episode “combines the heart-pounding action of the best-selling video game franchise with the unscripted drama of the best reality TV,” and the winner gets prizes and “a trip for two to Normandy, France, the setting of so much of the action in the popular game franchise.”
The episode is, of course, a clever promotion for Activision’s Call of Duty 3, which was released yesterday.
