ArchivesPeople’s Choice Awards has three reality TV categories; viewers can vote online.
The People’s Choice Awards will this year open its voting up to, um, people. Previously, Gallup polled individuals to determine the winners; this year, EW polled readers to choose the nominees, and voting will take place online in two phases. As its web site says, “For the first time in PCA history, all winners in every category will be chosen by voters on this website.” Also unlike last year, which featured a single reality TV category, the genre has three separate categories this year. The categories and nominees are:
- Favorite Reality Show / Competition: The Amazing Race, American Idol, The Apprentice, Survivor, and Last Comic Standing.
- Favorite Reality Show / Makeover: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Pimp My Ride, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Trading Spaces, and What Not to Wear.
- Favorite Reality Show / Other: Airline, Newlyweds, The Real World, Surreal Life, and Wife Swap.
