This past TV season, the top shows “among adults 18-49, a stunning nine programs were reality shows,” Variety reports. Even better, reality TV shows were the “top-rated show in the key demo for ABC (The Bachelor), NBC (The Apprentice, tied with “Friends”), Fox (American Idol) and UPN (America’s Next Top Model).” Overall for the season, NBC came in first, but FOX will place a close second among adults 18 to 49, mostly because of the sixteen million hours of American Idol 3 that it ran this year. FOX president Gail Berman says the network is “closer to No. 1 than at any other time in the history of our network.”
