ArchivesCBS hires new “head of reality.”
CBS is getting its own “head of reality and alternative programming,” according The Hollywood Reporter. Chris Sloan’s official title, “VP of alternative programming,” isn’t as fun as “head of reality” or “reality head,” but he’ll take over the position vacated earlier this year by Ghen Maynard. Sloan comes from TLC, where he “oversaw all of the cable network’s programming”; previously, “he was senior vp reality programming and specials at USA Network, where he oversaw and developed all nonscripted programming. At USA, Sloan helped develop the series Nashville Star, The Real Cannonball Run and Combat Missions.” Maybe TVGasm will get its wish of seeing The Real Cannonball Run 2001 resurrected, but this time on CBS instead of USA, which burned off the series in a single week.
