casting has become difficult because of “serial contestants,” other factors.
Casting reality TV shows is much more difficult now, The New York Times reports, in part because “oversaturation [has led to] an applicant pool that is representative only of itself, one filled with ‘serial contestants’ who audition for everything.” The paper also says potential cast members “have grown both wary and wise, forcing the shows to be more resourceful in attracting contestants.” One example: The casting director for Temptation Island 3, Michael Shevloff, is looking for cast members not in bars but through people’s places of work.
