The Writers Guild of America and the Actors Guild of America think that the increasing amount of reality TV is “a terrible trend,” Actors Guild President Melissa Gilbert says. The president of the Writers Guild says, “Our members are concerned that the plethora of reality programming is impacting them in terms of job opportunities. There is a fair amount of anxiety that these shows are cheap to make and developing new series is too expensive.”
