The Real World, Road Rules, and Sorority Life “reinforce the notion that women care first and foremost about relationships,” according to professor Susan J. Douglas. She’s quoted in a New York Times report about television shows that are “reinvigorating the debate about culture, gender and stereotypes.” The paper reports that the aforementioned shows “inflame the infamous gender wars, [Dougles] said, by asking whether men still essentially want women for their bodies and whether women want men for their money.”
