Bunim-Murray, Mike Fleiss producing competing spring break reality movies.
Two reality TV producers are working on movies that will bring the reality TV format to theatres this summer. Real World producers Bunim-Murray taped college students on spring break in Cancun for “The Real Cancun,” which New Line has pushed up to debut on April 25. Greg’s Preview reports that “they’re planning on keeping any swear words or nudity that happen to occur while the students are on camera, without editing it the way they would for TV, so an R rating is likely.” Meanwhile, Universal will release a movie by Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss. Now titled “The Quest,” the movie follows five men and three women on spring break in Mexico. Greg’s preview reports that it, too, will likely have an “R rating, due to the sexy scenes (probably with some nudity) the filmmakers are expected to capture on film.”
