ArchivesNOW’s Feminist Primetime report grades Amazing Race A-, Bachelor F.
The National Organization for Women has released its annual report on the representation of women in prime-time TV shows. In the full report [pdf], The Amazing Race 2 received an A- overall, earning an A+ for “[presenting] women as active participants in the plot.” Survivor Marquesas received a D+ in the social responsibility category, but it ended up with a C+ overall, whereas ABC’s The Bachelor received an F for sexual exploitation and an F overall. Other graded shows include the cancelled Under One Roof (B+) and No Boundaries (C+), which is now airing on the Outdoor Life Network.
