From The Mole to Making the Band to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, most of ABC’s shows are not traditional, scripted programs. At the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC defended that, saying the net is not a “reality-based network in any way, shape or form.” They feel “very comfortable with the mix that we have” of reality-based programs and scripted programs.
