TBS’ The Real Gilligan’s Island debuted with more than 7 million viewers.
The Real Gilligan’s Island is ” the first breakthrough original TBS has launched since it repositioned itself as a comedy cabler earlier this year,” Variety reports, as the two-hour debut was watched by more than 7 million viewers. The show had “4 million total viewers for the 8 p.m. premiere episode, with an additional 3.2 million showing up for encore airings at 10 p.m. on TNT and 11 p.m. on TBS.” Even better, it “bested 8 p.m. programming on Fox and UPN in adults 18-49 … and led all ad-supported cable in key demos and total viewers in the time period. Premiere also outperformed all broadcast webs but CBS in men 18-49.” The show continues Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET with its fourth episode, as the third aired on Wednesday night. The first three episodes will also repeat throughout the weekend on TBS.
