Queer Eye cancelled; final season will air this summer

Four years after it first debuted, Queer Eye will end its run, as Bravo has cancelled the show. The final 10 episodes will air this summer.

This isn’t exactly a surprise; the series’ impending end was rumored last summer, and one of the show’s stars said in August that the cast hadn’t yet been signed for the fifth—and now final—season.

The final season will include makeovers of people “ranging from a warring artsy family, to a monster truck-loving clutter bug, to a divorced dad biker dude,” according to Bravo. But the season will also be “a tribute to the Fab Five as well as the many lives they have touched over the years” that includes a “special final episode.”

In a press release, Bravo’s Frances Berwick said, “We proudly watched as viewers embraced the series that really helped open the closet doors on gays and their presence on television and in popular culture.”
