ArchivesQueer Eye wants gay man to make over.
According to Bravo and a questionnaire being circulated, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is casting for gay men—yes, you read that right—for the show. A Bravo spokesperson tells reality blurred that the show will be a special episode, similar to their plans to have an episode where straight men make over a gay guy: “We are looking at gay candidates to find a potential subject for Queer Eye which would
twist the format a bit. It would be a one-off special to air in 2004 similar to our plans to do one ‘Straight Eye for the Queer Guy’ episode.” The questionnaire, posted by Gawker, is almost identical to the Preliminary Candidate Questionnaire on Bravo’s site, including the option to say that the applicant’s apartment has been “Well decorated by my wife/girlfriend.” The major difference is that the first sentence reads, “If you are a GAY MAN over the age of 18 who lives in the NYC metropolitan area and have a genuine need for improvement for a specific reason, you may be a candidate for Bravo’s reality series.”
