Queer Eye

Duran Duran return after 20 years for Queer Eye soundtrack appearance.

Duran Duran return after 20 years for Queer Eye soundtrack appearance.
The Feb. 10 release of the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy soundtrack will include a new track by Duran Duran. “Sunrise” is the group’s “first new song in almost two decades,” Rolling Stone reports. A new special edition of the soundtrack will include “a bonus DVD containing the Wayne Isham-directed video for the theme song, a making-the-video clip and the video for Minogue’s ‘Slow.’” Speaking of albums, lest you think culture guy Jai Rodriguez is untalented or useless, he will be releasing his own solo album soon. According to Chart Attack, “Rodriguez is also an accomplished stage performer, meaning that the dude can actually sing. … His single ‘Love Is Good,’ has since become a successful New York club hit. … [And] fans have been left clamoring for more music.” The album will be out later this year.
+ update: A reader writes in, questioning Rolling Stone’s assertion that this is Duran Duran’s “first new song in almost two decades.” Pointing to the band’s discography, she asks, “Who can forget the horrible songs they came back with in the nineties? Or their tour in 2000?”
+ final update: Another reader writes in correcting the first; the RS piece references the “classic Duran Duran lineup,” and they will be the ones reuniting for “Sunrise.” Who knew there was more than one Duran Duran?
