ArchivesQueer Eye wins GLAAD award.
In an announcement as surprising as Carson Kressley’s coming out must have been, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy won the GLAAD Media Award for outstanding reality program. Actually, it was up against some serious competition: The Amazing Race 4 (which was won by a married gay couple), America’s Next Top Model (which showed gay men photographing and helping the models), Boy Meets Boy (which subjected gay men to the same humiliation that straight people experience on network dating shows), and The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet (which is just gay).
