report: Fab Five think “they are being ripped off,” but Ted seems content.
The Fab Five were at a pre-Emmy party where they “proceded [sic] to grumble all night about how they are being ripped off” by their Queer Eye for the Straight Guy contracts, Page Six reports. According to the gossip page, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore went up to say hi but left quickly because they were in a bad mood. A profile in Crain’s of food guy Ted Allen, however, reveals that Ted “already received what he described as a ‘very fair cut’ of the $1.25-million advance NBC got for the first ‘Queer Eye’-branded book.” He will also likely receive “a minimum $25,000 to $125,000” per speaking appearance, and has “signed on with Hollywood’s venerated William Morris Agency, with hopes of renegotiating his ‘Queer Eye’ contract, inking a book deal, and snaring speaking and endorsement gigs.”
+ also: report: Kyan Douglas and Queer as Folk’s Robert Gant “‘smitten’ with each other.”
